What is the first step in getting my vehicle transported?
The first thing you need to find out is how much it will cost to have your vehicle shipped. We can
provide you with a free, no obligation quote very easily. If you click on the “Request a Quote” link and
supply the necessary information then we will email you a quote. Alternatively, you can contact our
sales department at (800) 380-8002 and they will be happy to provide you a quote over the phone.
Once you have decided to move forward, we will email or fax a contract to you that provides all the
details. When that form is completed and returned to Transport Executives then we will work on getting
the vehicle dispatched to an available truck. Once we have located a truck we will be able to provide you
with details about the pick up date.

How much notice is needed?
The more time you give us the more we can accommodate your scheduling needs. We typically ask that
we have three to five business days to schedule the pick up or delivery of your vehicle. If you need a car
moved immediately then we will do our best to pick up the vehicle within 24 hours. Please understand
that the price of your quote will vary based on the time we have to ship your vehicle. The less time
provided results in a higher price.

Why does a truck/SUV cost more to ship?
Shipments are based on weight that a truck can legally carry. It is more expensive to ship a larger
vehicle because it takes up more room and adds more weight.

Can I put personal items in my vehicle?
We do not recommend that you do this. Automotive transporters are not licensed to transport personal
goods and can be fined for this. Additionally, personal goods inside your vehicle ARE NOT insured.

How long does it take to transport an automobile?
This depends on multiple factors. In general, transport from coast to coast can range from five to 14
days. This is just an estimated time and no one can (should) give you a guaranteed number of days.
When someone does make this promise then make sure you listen VERY carefully to what they are
telling you and also read the fine print in their contract.

What do I need to do to prepare my vehicle for transport?
Your car should be in good operating condition and should have no more than a ¼ tank of gasoline.
Inoperable vehicles are more difficult to ship and do require a surcharge.

Is my vehicle insured while in transit?
Yes, your vehicle is insured by the trucking company for damages caused by carrier negligence. Beware of brokers that tell you they are
insured because they do not carry insurance. We require that all our truckers provide their operating
authority and proof of insurance. We will never allow a trucker to pickup your vehicle when these
documents are (a) not provided or (b) not in force. During the pickup of your vehicle, the trucking company will complete a detailed physical inspection of your vehicle. Upon delivery, another inspection will be conducted to verify the vehicle is in the same
condition as it was upon pick up. The contract or bill of lading will explain this in detail.

What does “door-to-door” delivery mean?
This means that a car carrier will get as close as possible to your front door as long as it does not
compromise the safety of cargo or any other deterrents. Residential neighborhoods often do not
accommodate trucks of this size. Therefore, the driver will discuss accessibility with you. If
accessibility is limited the driver may suggest an alternate location for pick up or delivery.

Will my car go to a terminal?
We do our best to avoid terminals unless a customer requests it. A terminal service is used when the
carrier cannot pick-up or deliver your vehicle due to scheduling conflicts, inaccessible areas or both.
